Brong Ahafo Region
Call this region the transitional belt from the North to the South and you won’t be far from right. BA as it is popularly called is the last bastion of rainforest type vegetation you would encounter before hitting the savanna vegetation of the three northern regions. The region lies in both forest and savannah zone, making it ideal to see diverse animals in each category.
From its spectacular waterfalls to the close interaction with wildlife, to its famous grottos, and the much contested geographical centre of Ghana at Kintampo a visit to BA is certainly worth your while. The people are warm, friendly and laidback but are certainly happy to have you visit their Region. BA is a great place for adventure-related activities such as hiking and trekking and has rich history and culture.
Getting there and around
Sunyani, the regional capital is easily accessible by both private and public transportation through the national road network. From Kumasi there are two equally good routes options leading to Sunyani.
