To make the most out of your visit, its best to plan it around the time of celebrating the Hogbetsotso festival- an elaborate event to commemorate the people’s innovative escape from a tyrannical king centuries ago. It happens mainly around the first week of November.
Getting there and around
Visitors with private cars can drive approximately 150km to the regional capital of Ho along the Accra – Tema motorway heading through Akosombo and Juapong.
By public transport, there are trotro, Metro Mass Transit, coaches and STC that run from most of the regional capitals especially Accra to Ho and other popular towns.
Once in the region, there are taxis and trotro to take you around the region.
