Takoradi Market Circle
Find in the oil city in the Western Region of Ghana, the Takoradi Market Circle. A market with stores that have been built to form a circle, where the circle is actually a road round about. The market area covers 1squarekilometer and the market is the commercial and economic center of the Western Region .
It would interest you to know that the market was built to cater for the needs of the migrants who had travelled to the city of Takoradi to work when the Takoradi Harbour was built. Find in this one of a kind trading center, booths and stalls with goods such as food produce, kitchenware, clothes, phone accessories as well as some financial institutions such as Cal Bank, Ecobank, GCB Bank among others, restaurants, accommodation facilities and other shops where you can stop to shop all you want.
Note that the area is very busy with trading so you must put on comfortable clothes and slippers when visiting the market to get yourself something. Bargaining is allowed, refrain from window shopping and take pictures only with permission.
Getting there
Board a “trotro”/minibus from any major station nearer to you going to Takoradi and alert the mate that you would alight at Market Circle. Buses can be accessed at Accra – Kaneshie Market, Kumasi- Asafo Market, Cape Coast – Tantri Station, Pedu Station and any part of Western Region.
