Kyabobo National Park
KNP is a 360km2 park established near Nkwanta and lies close to the Republic of Togo. This park is a good standing protected area with several healthy endangered species.
With more than 100 mammals including lions, buffalos, hyena, red river hot there are also approximately 200 birds species and thousands of insects. Activities ranges from nature walk which is a great way to see the forest; night camping which is very pleasant with natural facilities; bird watching; swimming and fishing.
There are also waterfalls to visit inside the park.
With a community tour guide, you can take a guided tour through some fringe communities and a canoe ride through the forest. If you are looking for a real adventurous jungle experience, you don’t have to miss out Kyabobo.
There is a restaurant near the headquarters where you can eat. Do well to carry cookies, drinks and stuff that will serve you good purpose.
How to get there
Kyabobo is located 400km in Nkwanta District in the Volta region and is accessible from every part of Ghana. From Accra or Ho board a minibus or trotro to Nkwanta. Get rented vehicles, taxis or trotro to the park.
