If you want to experience typical African commerce on a first hand basis then Kejetia market is  your best bet!. With more than 10,000 stores, Kejetia (pronounced ‘kehetia’) is easily the largest single open market in West Africa.  Almost every consumable item imaginable is sold here and you definitely want to test your navigational skills through clustered shops that are too close to each other, vehicles that hoot at each other, sellers advertising their products by shouting out the product names, huge bus station, amongst others perplexing scenes. If you must still see Kejetia then your best bet is to try it on a slower less busy day like Sunday morning

Find Kejetia Market at the heart of Kumasi. Most transport you board within the city or from other regions will most probably land you at the market.
