Explore Ho
Let’s start our tour of the Volta Region by visiting Ho, its regional capital. This former capital of British Togoland lies at the heart at the region and has for centuries served as a hub brisk trade with
neighboring Togo. A walk through the town will definitely take you to the beautiful campuses of the Ho Technical University and the University for Health and Allied Sciences.
There are also many art and craft shops where you can find some- indigenously woven kente (mind you, Volta posts an alternative claim to the theory that Kente originated from Ashanti) and other native crafts.
Getting there
Ho is a transport hub, well connected to most parts of Ghana. There are plenty of buses and coaches and trotros that run directly between Accra to Ho on a daily basis. It is also possible to get direct
commercial vehicle from Takoradi, Kumasi Koforidua and Tamale to Ho.
