Cedi’s Bead factory is located on the Somanya road about two hours from Accra. Go west from Kpong about 30 minutes and try to plan your visit on Wednesday or Saturday to visit the Agomanya market.
This factory is one of the best known beadmakers in the country.
A visit to this factory will help you learn how glasses are turned into beautiful beads which adorn our bodies.

See how the glasses are crushed to a fine powder, the powder poured into a mold made of clay. Observe also how it is heated using crushed palm kernels which burn at an extremely hot temperature
to get the desired product.

You will be amazed at how simple traditional technology is used to derive a temperature of about 600°C using palm kernels. Visit this bead factory to learn how to make them, and don’t forget to buy some beads they make for goods souvenirs – and gifts also!

How to get there
Locate this factory at Somanya, few kilometers west of Kpong. Take the road north from Accra, through Adenta, Dodowa, Somanya, and then get to Odumase-Krobo.
