Boabeng Fiema Monkey Sanctuary
Visit this Boabeng Fiema to experience firsthand monkey cohabitation with humans. The sanctuary is home to the Black and White Colobus Monkey and the Mona Monkey and has been an instrument of awe as monkeys are accorded all rights due humans, including a decent burial.
While here ask to be shown the monkey cemetery and in addition to that your guide will lead you through the trails in the lush forest to watch monkey on the ground and on the forest canopy. There are birds, butterflies, and over 90 species of plants to see in the reserve. You can’t help but admire how these monkeys learn new skills and show various signs of self-awareness when visitors come around.

Getting there
Take trotro from Techiman to Nkoranza and continue to the villages of Boabeng and Fiema. From Kintampo turn right off the main Kintampo – Techiman highway and drive 32km to the village.
