Aburi Botanical Gardens
The Aburi Botanic Gardens is one of the most fascinating places in Ghana. This garden was opened in March, 1890 to serve as sanatorium for government official based on the design from Royal Botanical Garden, KEW in the UK.
This glorious garden has since provided both studied and leisure tour for good number of visitors. Covering 64 hectares on an elevation of up to 460 meters above sea level and overlooking the Accra coastal plain.
The garden has an atmosphere much similar to the fall in most part of US and Canada.
The beautiful reserved plants properly embellished will give you a captivated opportunity and for photography and filmmaking.
Enjoy range of exceptionally attractive things onsite such as the bush house, the rock garden, The Pergola or Lovers lane. You can also see a retired helicopter and a horticulture school. Connect with Aburi because it is peaceful with some lovely trees and plants.
Getting there
Aburi is about 30 Km away from Accra, and can be reached via a modern dual-carriage way. Mini-Bus or TroTro can be boarded at Tema Station in Accra central or at Odawna station near Kwame Nkrumah Circle or at Madina
